Symbolics leads the way
March 15, 1985, the first .com domain got registered and the rest is history 
. It was the company Symbolics Computers that bought the domain, but it 2009 it was sold to the domain company XF.com. Today the domain is used as a blog for the owner of XF.com, Aron Meystedt.
There where 5 other domains registered in 1985, BBN.com, think.com, DEC.com and northrop.com. And in 2008 there where about 77 million .com domains.
